In the early morning hours of October 3, 2015 a massive willow oak tree was toppled onto the church bell tower by a violent overnight storm. Extensive damage was done to the tower and sanctuary forcing the congregation to worship in the  fellowship hall building for almost a full year while repairs were made to the church building. The church family remained steadfast in worship, praise, and service to the Lord during this time and rejoiced at returning to the newly repaired and refurbished sanctuary on October 2, 2016.
